opened as a small food trailer in April 2018, and quickly rose in popularity and prestige within the whole Bay Area. With the community's overwhelming support, Vegan Veganos expanded into a full size 20'' food truck in August 2020 - which now operates three times a week. Our food truck (currently) situates at two locations within San Jose & Santa Clara, CA - serving Bay Area residents and out of town visitors daily, allowing guests to experience a whole lot of plant based flavors.
About Dalena & Manuel
Vegan Veganos' owners, Dalena and Manuel, were born and raised in the south side of San Jose in California. They met as young teenagers in high school and have been dating for now 11 years. Over the years, they grew together and developed many similar hobbies, mindsets, passions, and ethics. In 2017, they both fully transitioned into a plant-based lifestyle and quickly became disappointed with the lack of vegan options while dining out. This resorted to either cooking at home, or having to spend money eating tasteless, overloaded carbs at restaurants.. They spent several weeks in the kitchen experimenting with all their favorite dishes - substituting whatever they can with plant-based ingredients to bring back all their favorite childhood flavors inspired by mom's cooking. After impressing all of their friends and families with their vegan Mexican street food recipes, they took the leap of faith and opened up Vegan Veganos in hopes of showing the world how amazing plant-based food can be.
For many guests experiencing Vegan Veganos, whether it be for the first time or as repeat customers, what really impresses and fascinates them the most is not only the unique flavor combinations and excellent customer service, but also the experience of enjoying their favorite hand-eaten Mexican comfort foods. All components of each dish are hand-crafted with love and care - all made from scratch with quality ingredients.
